Making the most of it, until . . .
We checked in at our timeshare and welcomed Kate and Aga who had tickets for the annual tennis tournament at Indian Wells. Well . . . the tournament was cancelled. We spent almost a week trying to decide if we should all go home. In the end we did, cutting our timeshare stay short and scraping plans to spend a few days in San Diego. BUT, we did get in a really nice hike with Kate/Aga.
Ritzy Interlude
Our two day splurge at the Ritz Carlton was a nice place to hunker down and sit out the rainstorm. The pool looked great, but nobody was there. Another gathering storm, COVID.
Palm Desert - 2020
We planned a month in So. Cal starting March 1st. From the start, things weren't going exactly right. We've been to PD many times in March with perfect weather. This year it was chilly; not especially pool weather. During our first week, my sister came to visit for a couple of nights. We had a windmill tour (very interesting) and went to the McCallum Theater for a Manhattan Transfer performance. We were hearing about COVID-19, but it seemed like a remote problem . . .
