NZ: Fiordlands . . . a world beyond

Welcome to beauty and pristine vistas. We boarded a small cruise vessel with 10 other people for an overnight trip into the Doubtful Sound of New Zealand's firodlands. The pictures and words just don't cut it.

The entrance to Doubtful Sound is through Lake Manapouri; it has 33 islands, the most of any lake in NZ and is touted as being NZ's most beautiful lake.

Waterfalls everywhere.

Amazing rock formations.

We caught our dinner. This one was sushi. We also had some delicious blue cod.

On the boat with the morning fog lifting.

Morning breaks.

After leaving Lake Manapouri and the Sound, we traveled to Dunedin on the east coast to start our last 3 days in NZ. This is the view from our hotel, The Saint Clair.
