NZ: Dunedin - the end of the line . . . .

Gorgeous gorge - The Taieri Gorge, that is.


This railroad we constructed between 1870 and 1890 without the benefit of heavy equipment and even dynamite. Using dynamite was just too dangerous in the deep gorge.


The Reef Hotel, complete with fireplace. It was used by RR workers back in the day.


It was hard to capture the vertical drops to the river below.


There were a few stops along the route with historical info.
