On to Prince Edward Island (PEI)

The marshes of northern Nova Scotia

OK, this is the reason for our trip - at least in my mind. Ever since reading the Anne of Green Gables books as a kid I've wanted to come here. Pinch me! A top of the list bucket item is being realized. We had planned to take the ferry from Pictou to PEI but when we arrived at the landing we discovered the ferry was cancelled. So, we drove to the bridge (2 1/2 hr) through dairy country and tiny towns and actually were glad we did. Marshes, bays filled with boats, fresh bales of hay in pastures, etc. Our PEI hotel, the Great George, is right in Charlottetown and Oh-So-British!

The 5 mile long Confederation Bridge from NS to PEI.

Farmland in PEI. The dirt is red and rich.

The Great Ron at The Great George Hotel. Complete with deep comfy leather chairs and a picture display of famous people who have stayed here.
