View from the top of Rangitoto, an extinct volcano island just a 20 (fast) minute ferry ride from the city. Hiking over the rough lava in lots of places was pretty treacherous but we made it to the top and enjoyed the spectacular views - the image above being just one of them.
Auckland - day 1

We arrived in New Zealand actually pretty rested thanks to our overnight flight with some pretty amazingly comfy seats. After checking into our hotel we took the Hop On Hop Off bus to do some sight seeing. The photo above is of the area where our hotel is located. - lots going on, really convenient and beautiful, especially at sunset.
